(CNN) - New Jersey state lawmakers investigating an alleged political payback scheme involving aides to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie have subpoenaed Matt Mowers to testify, a legislative source said.

Mowers, a former Christie campaign aide, is now executive director of the New Hampshire Republican Party.

He was asked to appear on May 13 before the panel, which is investigating suggestions that traffic jams at the foot of the George Washington Bridge last year in Fort Lee were orchestrated by Christie allies to punish that town’s mayor for not backing the governor’s reelection.

The source also said Port Authority executive director Pat Foye, who was also scheduled to testify next month, will now talk to the committee in June.

On May 6, lawmakers will hear from Christina Renna, who worked under Bridget Anne Kelly, a former top Christie aide and a key figure in the scandal, and Port Authority board member Pat Schuber.

A week later, Mowers and Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak will appear.

The U.S. Attorney’s office is also investigating.
